TPM UAI CNC Machinist (Finance)
What You Will Do as a Machinist: As a Machinist, you will be responsible for using both manual and CNC mills and lathes to machine parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. You will write and execute CNC programs, perform standard shop housekeeping, and manage raw material selection. Your role will involve maintaining high quality standards in workmanship, accurately setting up parts, and operating various machines, including mills, lathes, and drill presses. You will also perform quality assurance tasks using typical measurement tools and work closely with the Engineering teams to provide input on design for manufacturing. A strong candidate for this position will have excellent machining and programming skills for both mills and lathes, and should be confident in running the machine shop independently, as they will need to be self-sufficient without relying on others.
Skills/Job Requirements:
• Ability to communicate professionally both written and verbally.
• Interpret and understand engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Maintain high quality standards in workmanship.
• Edge find and compute offsets for initial part setup.
• Manually operate machines with digital read-outs, including but not limited to three-axis mills, CNC lathes, and drill presses.
• Maintain accurate records of parts machined.
• Machine parts from parts drawings.
• Determine correct tooling for parts being machined.
• Program and operate CNC equipment using Haas controls (preferred).
• Utilize Fusion360 CADCAM software (preferred).
• Perform QA tasks utilizing typical measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, pin gauges, dial indicators, surface gauges, etc.).
• Work with the Engineering teams to provide crucial input on design for manufacturing.
• Adhere to all corporate policies and procedures.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
• Minimum 5 years of experience programming and operating CNC mills and/or lathes using Haas controls or similar Fanuc-style controls.
• Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the areas of assignment.
• CNC milling machine: 5 years (required).
• CNC programming: 5 years (required).
• CNC lathe: 5 years (required).
Compensation
Employee Type: Hourly
Salary Minimum: $60,000
Salary Maximum: $80,000
