Director, Global Helium Sourcing (Finance)

Global Helium is seeking a Director, Global Helium Sourcing to join our team located in The Woodlands, TX. This position is responsible for the development and commercialization of new helium sources globally that are aligned with Linde's broader helium business strategy. This requires close collaboration with product management, sales, engineering and operations while positioning Linde as a preferred partner globally in the development of new helium sources. RESPONSIBILITIES - Development and execution of the company's helium sourcing strategy that is aligned with the broader short, mid and long-term strategies of the helium business. - Establish a strong understanding and knowledge of new helium supply prospects globally. - Position Linde as a differentiated partner in the development of new helium sources globally. - Develop relationships with key industry players including, but not limited to, oil and gas developers, natural gas and LNG producers, entrepreneurs, developers, etc. to ensure Linde is aware of all helium prospects and best positioned to prioritize and successfully acquire/commercialize new sources. - Position oneself as recognized leader and subject matter expert on helium sourcing globally. - Lead the risk assessment and prioritization of new helium sourcing prospects globally including any need for engagement of third parties. - Develop a deep commercial and technical understanding of oil & gas exploration, production, and processing while also establishing a strong network and reputation with oil and gas firms developing hydrocarbons and/or helium resources globally. - Work closely with helium operations and logistics to ensure the effective integration of new sources into the operations and the supply chain. - Development of strategy and business cases for acquisition of new helium sources. - Development of differentiated sourcing solutions which create a competitive advantage in the marketplace. - Negotiation of new helium sourcing contracts and/or development agreements. - Business lead for all helium supply related engagement with the US government on helium related business and lobbying activities. QUALIFICATIONS Required: - Bachelor's degree in engineering - 5+ years of business management & project/business development experience - Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (domestic and international) - Ability to financially model complex investments to support business development, negotiations and final investment decisions - Experience negotiating large complex contracts with large multi-national clients - Ability to learn the technical aspects of oil and gas exploration, production, and processing Preferred: - Some background in oil and gas exploration and production and gas processing - Product management experience - Commercial and/or operations experience with helium - Experience with negotiation of oil and gas development agreements - Experience with large complex project management/development - Experience with acquisitions - Experience with joint ventures Linde is a leading global industrial gases and engineering company with 2023 sales of $33 billion.
