Role Summary
As a Quality Engineer at MacLean-Fogg, you'll play a key role in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the highest quality standards for products and processes within our manufacturing environment. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, identify opportunities to prevent defects, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the highest quality standards are met. Key Responsibilities
- Establish & Maintain Quality Standards: Develop and implement quality standards for products, processes, and systems to ensure the highest quality is achieved.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product design, product management, and production teams to identify and resolve quality risks early in the process.
- Audits & Compliance: Conduct audits of production processes, raw materials, and suppliers to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards. Recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate product defects and quality failures, conducting thorough root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency and reduce defects.
- Documentation & Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely completion of quality-related documentation, including Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), root cause analysis reports, and corrective actions.
- Customer Interface: Serve as a direct point of contact for customer quality issues, working to resolve and communicate solutions promptly.
Required:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive quality engineering.
- Certifications/Licenses: Quality Engineer certification or equivalent is preferred.
Preferred:
- Direct responsibility for customer interface regarding all quality issues.
- Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, and SPC.
- Basic understanding of quality principles, inspection techniques, and industry standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and communicate quality issues and solutions.
- High attention to detail, ensuring product specifications and quality standards are consistently met.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, cross-functional environment.
- Strong commitment to learning and staying updated on the latest quality tools and techniques.
