Fabrication & Controls Technician (Engineering)
Interpret drawings used in metal fabrication and construction of electrical components and equipment.
Program, set up, and operate CNC laser and press brake to run production and development parts based on specifications outlined in related drawings.
Assemble damper components based on drawing specifications to prepare materials for the welding process.
Assemble electrical components compliant with UL508A including:
Metal cutting, drilling, and tapping
Component layout and mounting
Wire routing, cutting, labelling, and termination
Control panel labelling
Conduct point-to-point testing utilizing multimeters and other testing equipment.
Perform in-process quality checks to ensure product is acceptable to move onto the next step in the production process.
Properly utilize measurement devices such as tape measures, calipers, etc. to verify critical dimensions.
Set-up and perform functional tests on finished product included in the quality inspection plan.
Use hand and power tools for metal fabrication, assembly, and electrical wiring.
Record production and quality data manually or in the ERP system.
Operate material handling equipment, such as jib cranes, bridge cranes, and forklifts.
Maintain and participate in general housekeeping activities as well as the implementation and maintenance of Lean Six Sigma.
Adhere to all company and regulatory safety policies.
Qualifications
Ability to safely and successfully perform any/all essential job functions.
Ability to meet and maintain all qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance.
Compliance with all personnel policies and practices.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and prints.
Basic electrical knowledge of high and low voltage circuitry and components such as contactors, relays, etc.
Familiarity with NEC, UL508A and other industry standard preferred.
Previous Forklift and material handling experience preferred.
