Advanced Practice Provider-Ophthalmology-Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware (Finance)
Nemours is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Ophthalmology team! The APP will perform direct and indirect patient care services. The APP will be split coverage between the Malvern and Wilmington locations. The schedule will consist of weekday coverage in Wilmington and Malvern as well as one weekend per month in Wilmington. In addition, the Physician Assistant will perform telehealth services for New Jersey.

Essential Functions:
Perform history and physical examinations in both the inpatient, outpatient and telehealth setting.
Enter patient information and patient prescriptions into the electronic medical record.
Triage and respond to phone calls from referring physician, patients and their families, allied health professionals, insurance companies, etc. regarding patient care.
Educate parents or legal guardians and other involved personnel on patient condition and plan of care. Provide general education and information on an ongoing basis to all personnel who are members of or work with the Divisions of Ophthalmology.
Make hospital rounds and write progress notes on patients as medically indicated.
Communicate with appropriate medical staff for purposes of consultation, referral, and coordination of patient care and other service issues.
Assist the surgeon in the operating room with surgical procedures as requested.
Perform office-based procedures under the supervision of an attending physician. This may include removal of tear duct stents, removal of corneal foreign body.
Participate in divisional, departmental, and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of Nemours.
Participate in Ophthalmology program planning and development.
Demonstrate proficiency in the care of all age groups; neonates, infants, toddlers, school aged, adolescents, and adults.
Serve as a consultant within specialty area for colleagues both intra and extra departmentally and in the community.
