Health & Safety Specialist (Finance)
Junior to Mid-Level H&S Specialist to provide health and safety support on environmental investigation and remediation projects, as well as supporting projects for commercial clients. Must be a U.S. Citizen due to the clients we service.

Responsibilities:
• Help grow our current client base for H&S services and expand our H&S service offerings to existing and new clients.
• Maintaining and strengthening your expertise with health, safety and environmental regulations and standards, with an emphasis on federal OSHA regulations.
• Prepare and present employee health and safety training.
• Provide H&S technical expertise and support to assigned projects including preparing and reviewing project-specific Accident Prevention Plans and Site Safety and Health Plans, and occasional onsite H&S support.
• Other duties include developing/updating H&S SOPs and procedures, developing/conducting H&S training, evaluating subcontractor H&S qualification submissions, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, chemistry, toxicology, or related science required (Master's degree preferred).
• 3 - 5 years of professional safety and health experience.
• Previous military experience or working within the DoD preferred.

• Completion of 40-hour HAZWOPER training (with appropriate annual 8-hour refresher courses).
• Strong technical writing and oral presentation/communication skills

Position requires ability to traverse in outdoor conditions, move and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and having to possibly remain in stationary position for extended periods of time and/or position oneself.

Majority of work will be in an office environment, with occasional project assignments that can involve travel, working extended hours, and working outdoors in conditions that may involve high heat and/or humidity or cold environments.
Language & Communication Skills: Must be fluent in the English language, verbal and written with strong technical writing skills.
Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills, plus algebra, calculating percentages, etc.
Other Skills: Competent in comprehensive safety and health practice for both General Industry and the Construction Industry. Competent in the practical application of sciences commonly associated with the professional fields of safety engineering and industrial hygiene, such as chemistry, physics, and basic human anatomy and physiology.
