About the Role
The Process Engineering Co-op will work closely with operators, Process Engineers, Maintenance Reliability Leaders, the Organizational Improvement Manager, Plant Initiatives Manager, and other operations technical leaders. This collaboration is essential to support continuous improvement initiatives and daily fiber recovery system data collection necessary for efficient operations. The role is pivotal in ensuring that our facility operates smoothly and sustainably, contributing to our overall operational excellence.

What You Will Do
As a Process Engineering Co-op, your responsibilities will include:
Data Collection and Testing: You will collect data and perform tests on various systems, including the wastepaper recycling system, paper machines, and related equipment and processes. This data is crucial for monitoring and maintaining the health of our processes.
Trend Analysis: You will perform trend analysis on the collected data to understand and predict process balance, health, and stability. This analysis helps in making informed decisions about process operations and improvements.
Identifying Improvement Opportunities: You will work with Engineers, Utilities, and the Manufacturing Team to identify opportunities for improvement. Using the scientific method, you will develop and conduct trials to test these improvements.
Waste and Materials Audits: Conducting waste and materials audits will be part of your role. You will manage chemical inventory-related processes and interact with vendors and technical consultants to ensure efficient operations.
Lab Equipment Maintenance: You will be responsible for maintaining process lab equipment and supplies, ensuring that everything is in good working order for accurate testing and data collection.
Safety Initiatives: Supporting site safety initiatives is a key part of your role. You will help ensure that all safety protocols are followed and contribute to a safe working environment.
Who You Are
We are seeking an undergraduate college student enrolled in a four-year Engineering program. Ideal candidates will be studying Chemical Engineering, Paper Science, Environmental Engineering, or other related lab sciences. You must be able to work a 40-hour-per-week position on-site in Wisconsin from June 2025 to January 2026.
What We Can Offer You
We offer a competitive hourly wage of $21-24, with the possibility of a housing stipend. Additionally, you will have access to our full benefits program.
