Accounting Manager (Administrative)
Position Purpose:
This position partners with other members of the accounting/finance department in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to develop and execute initiatives that will streamline, automate, and improve the accuracy of the close process and reporting. The accounting manager will partner with other areas of the company that include banking-as-a-service partners, the bank, billing, AR & collections, taxes, accounting/finance related vendors, report management and AP process, monthly run rate, assist with variance analysis, partner with FP&A department with budgeting and forecasting, and month end journal entries / reconciliations. This position will also partner with the team closely involved in the monthly, quarterly & annual close and financial statements. This position will assist the CFO in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and financial statements, board reporting, management reporting and other ad hoc reporting as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
Leads the monthly financial close process. Reviews the general ledger and recording of all business transactions, including detailed analysis and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts.
Performs and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement closing activities.
Consistently analyzes financial data and presents financial reports in an accurate and timely manner. Clearly communicates monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results.
Ensures team deadlines for month-end close and financial reporting requirements are met.
Oversees the processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, university billing and cash management.
Ensures accurate/timely direct and indirect tax reporting and payment and identification of any changes in regulations or exposure that could impact the Company.
Assists in the development, maintenance, and implementation of a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
Assists in the assessment, design, and implementation of effective internal controls over financial reporting and other business process improvements. Monitors ongoing compliance, makes recommendations for, and helps implement improvements.
Leads continuous improvement in the areas of accounting operations and financial reporting process/systems to increase automation and scale.
Assists in the identification, analysis, and implementation of revenue generating or expense saving opportunities in the Company.
Management and assists in university billing, university accounts receivable, and cash management.
Develop, track and review accounts receivable process related to university billing and collections.
Liaises with the Companys internal audit team related to all University billing, accounts receivable and collections. Supports the timely completion of quarterly FDICIA reviews and annual audit.
Ensures that deadlines for month-end close and financial reporting requirements are met related to university billing, accounts receivable and collections.
Support accounts payable and cash management as needed.
Assists in the development, maintenance, and implementation of a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
Assists in the assessment, design, and implementation of effective internal controls over financial reporting and other business process improvements. Monitors ongoing compliance, makes recommendations for, and helps implement improvements.
Assists in the identification, analysis, and implementation of revenue generating or expense saving opportunities in the Company.
Performs other duties as required to support the Accounting and Finance Department.
Assists Chief Financial Officer of BM Technologies and Bank with special tasks/projects.
Assists in research and implementation of new financial products.
Assist and support the Chief Financial Officer of BM Technologies by ensuring adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as well as policies and procedures of the organization and applicable regulatory and governmental agencies.
Assist in preparing and reviewing a comprehensive list of accounting reports, including financial statements and regulatory reports, such as quarterly Call Reports, Federal Home Loan and Federal Reserve Bank reports as well as other reporting related to the BM Technologies financial condition
Assist employees with GL and accounting questions related to BM Technologies
Participate in the reconciliation of BM Technologies reports including supporting documents; serve as designee reviewer as needed
Assist in financial budgets and forecasts at the BM Technologies
Other duties as assigned

Job Specifications:

Required:
Bachelors degree in finance or accounting with five years experience of finance or banking
Good communication, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
Must be professional, reliable, and dependable
Good computer skills
Proficient in Excel
Demonstrated ability to deliver complex concepts and gain consensus amongst team members and external partners
Preferred:
MBA
Background in financial analysis and reporting
Knowledge of general ledgers
