ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The USF Health Taneja College of Pharmacy is managed by the Dean and an actively engaged administrative leadership team. The mission of the college is to transform health through educating students to be outstanding and successful practitioners and leaders in the profession; through leading in discovery and innovation of education and practice in pharmacy; and through delivering the highest quality care in diverse, interprofessional clinical and community settings.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director of Curricular Outcomes will direct a comprehensive curricular program evaluation system and oversee student assessment and evaluation activities within the Taneja College of Pharmacy. The Assistant Director will work closely with faculty to implement novel assessments and support curricular mapping to inform curricular program evaluation and measurement. They will lead the development and implementation of evaluation strategies to support competency-based education, proactive identification of individualized academic support needs, and continuous quality improvement. The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, creative, and possess a strong content base of knowledge; they must also be able to engage collaboratively with deans, chairs, and faculty. The position will report directly to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Curricular program evaluation:
Maintain curricular maps and facilitate development of related reports.
Manage curricular data analytics and academic decision support platform for continuous evaluation and enhancement of curricular outcomes.
Identify potential areas for improvement, suggest solutions based on data outcomes, and execute plans to address needs.
Detect concerning trends based on student performance/progression and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with faculty on innovative improvements for formative and summative evaluations to ensure all USF students attain curricular outcomes and entrustable professional activities (COEPAs).
Oversee faculty development related to curricular alignment, student assessment, and optimal remediation strategies.
Progression exam development and implementation:
Develop an optimal process for progression exam operations including communications, schedules, reservations/requests, LMS to document student progress, etc.
Supervise coordination of efficient progression exams that are mapped to curricular outcomes
Oversee faculty development related to exam question writing, content development, design of evaluations, and remediation strategies.
Collaborate with the curricular team on educational scholarship endeavors to produce presentations, publications, grant funding, etc. that highlight innovations in academic assessment and evaluation
Continuous quality improvement related to academic affairs (curriculum, accreditation, assessment, and operations)
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of ten (10) years of related experience -OR- Master's degree and minimum of seven (7) years of related experience
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.
PREFERRED:
Requires Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction or related degree and 7 years work experience, of which 2 of those years of experience would be in Higher Education
Preferred PhD or EdD with experience and expertise in curriculum design and evaluation
Experience working with academic data analyses and accreditation information/reports
Expertise in adult education learning theory
Expertise with development of training content and ability to translate theoretical/conceptual information into clear, applicable terminology
Experience with educational scholarship
