Press Helper (Finance)
Essential Functions
- Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
- Demonstrate commitment to quality and perform job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines
- Be aware of responsibilities and accountability as clearly defined for key staff involved with product safety, legality, and quality systems
- Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, stock specifications, colors, special printing instructions, and any special customer requirements
- Keep new rags stocked and empty dirty ones
- Fill containers of cleaning solvents, water, fountain solution and ink as needed
- Assist the Operator with mounting plates
- Continuously check for quality defects on product running off conveyor belt
- Communicate with the Operator when problems come up on the delivery end
- Assist with decisions regarding the quality of finished product
- Complete required quality inspections and paperwork
- Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
- Palletize stacks of finished product on skid
- Remove product skids and change waste Gaylord bins
- Must be trained and qualified to operate baler
- Must be trained and qualified to operate the roll handling equipment
- Must be trained and qualified to operate the skid turner
- Run presses through breaks when needed
- Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding work area
- Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
- Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors
Education/Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent

- Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
- Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed
- Ability to effectively work in teams
- Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
