We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced EMS Coordinator to oversee and manage emergency medical services operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with all applicable State and Federal regulations, enhancing service delivery, and upholding the highest standards of patient care and emergency preparedness. The EMS Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating EMS personnel, supporting the development and implementation of training programs, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. This role also requires effective collaboration with both internal departments and external stakeholders to promote operational excellence within the emergency services division.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Under direction of Chief of Emergency Services, monitor EMS operations providing direction to EMS personnel, including EMTs and EMRs. · Assist with implementation and execution of training programs to enhance staff competencies and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. · Monitor and evaluate EMS performance metrics (KPIs) identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.Manage resource allocation to meet operational demands. · Stay current with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting EMS operations; ie: EMT, ICEMA, Cal-OSHA, and NFPA. · Manage EMS supply inventory and ensure timely replenishment of medical supplies and equipment. 2. Collaborate with Searles Valley Minerals' Safety, Security, Health, Emergency Services and other facilities/departments to enhance emergency response and general safety program efforts. · Help integrate EMS operations in emergency response plans and participate in emergency preparedness initiatives, drills and audits. · Ensure proper maintenance and readiness of EMS equipment and vehicles, including performing regular audits and inspections. · Provide CPR/AED and other medical training to employees as needed. · Assist with emergency services performance improvement initiatives. 3. Work with Occupational Health Nurse and Chief of Emergency Services to ensure company Health and Emergency Services initiatives are met. · Assist Company Nurse with fit testing, injury assessments, and other operational needs. · Assist with compliance with privacy regulations (HIPAA) and coordinate accurate documentation of patient care records. · Assist Fire Chief with permitting and annual compliance testing for emergency response vehicles. · Coordinate shipment and compliance of SCBA's annual testing. · Assist with Reasonable suspicion interviews, drug screening and breath-alcohol testing as needed. · Perform Safety New Hire Orientation providing badges, locks and keys as needed. 4. Assist with Contractor Orientation, badging and compliance record-keeping for SVM contractors. 5. Assist in ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, company policies and practices with regards to safety standards. · Assist in monitoring and auditing Health and EMS programs for various facilities ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations. · Coordinate and conduct EMS and Health audits on a regular basis, maintain documentation and address all hazards appropriately. · Assist Safety personnel as needed to implement SVM Health and Safety policies, procedures and processes.
