Hospital Budget Reimbursement Officer - Budget & Reimbursements Division (Finance)
This position will oversee and direct the budget and reimbursement programs at Riverside University Health System-Medical Center (RUHS-MC). Key duties include developing cost reimbursement strategies, preparing third-party reimbursement reports (such as for Medicare and Medi-Cal), compiling data for various reporting needs, responding to audit requests, and managing staff. The role requires analyzing financial data to ensure maximum reimbursements from governmental and third-party agencies, as well as reviewing regulations and making recommendations for financial improvements. The Hospital Budget Reimbursement Officer will also participate in strategic planning and represent the Medical Center at meetings, conferences, and with external agencies.

RUHS Website• Supervise the preparation of all third party cost reimbursement reports such as those required for Medicare and Medi-Cal; review third party contracts and direct the development of new agreements to maximize RUHS-MC's financial rate of return.
• Monitor and analyze the Medical Center department's budget performance and accounting techniques to determine actual versus budget costs.
• Participate in the development of new programs which increase the Medical Center's financial viability; recommend cost shift or accounting strategies to maximize reimbursements.
• Review current regulations regarding reimbursement for the Medical Center, clinic healthcare services, and medical education, and make suggestions for maximizing participation in available reimbursement schemes.
• Keep abreast of new standards and proposed changes in healthcare rules and regulations which may have a financial impact on the operation of the Medical Center; analyze and report on the potential financial impact of legislative proposals and recommend a medical center policy position for use in legislative lobbying.
• Provide information to the Medical Center CFO and management team as a basis for strategic planning discussions; perform special financial studies as assigned by the Medical Center Comptroller.
• May represent the Medical Center CFO or Medical Center Comptroller at meetings and conferences; prepare a variety of correspondence and agency reports as required.Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree preferably with a major in finance, accounting, business administration, or a closely related field to the assignment.
Experience: Four years of fiscal experience in a medical center or healthcare agency which included responsibility for budgets and reimbursements. A minimum of two years of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.
