Accounts Payable Specialist (Administrative)
Purpose and Scope of Job:
Primarily responsible for performing day-to-day accounts payable functions.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
Monitor/maintain centralized A/P Inbox Scan invoices into document management system for approval and/or vouchering Review invoices/payment requests for appropriate documentation and/or approvals prior to processing Identify, research and resolve invoice discrepancies. Monitor vendor accounts to ensure payments are made in an accurate, timely manner. Reconcile vendor accounts in a timely manner Reconcile monthly vendor balance reports and process required entries and allocations Correspond with internal/external staff members and suppliers. Record month close entries Prepare and process check runs, wire transfers, credit card and ACH payments. Process transactions in accordance to company policy and GAAP Maintain vendor files/documentation in accordance to company policy. Must possess thorough understanding of Balance Sheet & P&L accounts and appropriate (debit / credit) entries Assist in month/year-end closing. Provide support for projects as needed Exceptional attention to detail Strong organizational and problem solving skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to meet strict deadlines Must work well independently and in a team environment
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of two (2) years of Accounts Payable experience in high volume, fast pace environment.Working knowledge of GAAP.Strong competency in Microsoft Office applications, mainly Excel.Associates Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance, or accounting coursework preferredAny additional essential skills and/or knowledge as shown in the HRIS Career & Education > Skills section for incumbents holding this job title.
