IDEA Health Equity Program Manager (Finance)
Reporting to the Director, Data Science and Analytics within the Health Equity department, the IDEA Health Equity Program Manager drives the planning, execution, and delivery of health equity focused strategic initiatives within population health at Nemours Children's Health. This position bridges clinical healthcare operations with technical program management to advance the organization's Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Alignment (IDEA) mission. Strategic program leadership is essential to this role in leading the development and implementation of population health and health equity clinical and data standards, program and evaluation, disparity analysis frameworks, and outcomes measurements.
The Program Manager will facilitate integration of health equity principles across organizational policies, processes, and initiatives. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated expertise in both traditional and Agile project management methodologies, with a focus on leading cross-functional teams in a healthcare setting. The Program Manager will be responsible for coordinating resources, managing program governance, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and ensuring the successful delivery of health equity initiatives that drive measurable improvements in healthcare delivery and outcomes. The role is responsible for designing and executing comprehensive health equity programs within the population health framework that align with organizational strategic objectives.
Essential Functions:
1.Lead the development and implementation of Health Equity strategy, including data standards, disparity analysis frameworks, and outcomes measurements aligned with enterprise strategic objectives.
2. Serve as Scrum Master for technical teams, facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews while removing impediments to team progress.
3. Manage comprehensive program documentation including roadmaps, release plans, sprint backlogs, risk registers, and status reports using both traditional and Agile project management approaches.
4. Design and implement evaluation frameworks for health equity initiatives, collaborating with data science teams to develop and monitor healthcare disparity metrics.
5. Transform complex clinical and operational requirements into actionable technical solutions, ensuring alignment with healthcare quality improvement methodologies.
6. Build and maintain strong partnerships across clinical, technical, and operational teams, providing clear communication and managing stakeholder expectations at all organizational levels.
7. Lead the development and execution of change management strategies to support the integration of health equity principles across organizational policies and processes.
8. Oversee program governance, including steering committee coordination, stakeholder engagement, and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs).
9. Manage academic publications and presentations on behalf of the department, including preparation of abstracts, submissions, and literature reviews.
10. All other duties as assigned
Job requirements:
Bachelor's Degree with knowledge/training in project and program management principles
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Agile Program Management certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
Minimum of three (3) years' experience in healthcare operations and project coordination, managing cross-functional or inter-disciplinary teams.
Demonstrated experience in a clinical or healthcare operations setting involving planning, financial analysis, or strategy development utilizing project management methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to manage multifaceted projects and/or program teams. Ability to set up, plan, manage, report, and communicate projects and direct the completion of projects within proper scope, budget, and schedule
Demonstrated knowledge of core issues related to equity/health equity, equity/health equity research, change management, large group educational design and facilitation.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software packages.
Preferred: Healthcare quality improvement certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, ACRAC, CBAP, Prince2, CSM)
