This position is Grant Funded and will be a time limited position.
ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Ataxia Division in the Department of Neurology conducts a very high volume of clinical research. With multiple investigational products in testing phases and comparison trials there are many patients being seen within the open trials. The research also seeks to understand more about the disease and its progression.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Will coordinate multiple clinical trial studies independently. Will manage patients enrolled in clinical studies and guide them through study visits while overseeing all aspects of the clinical trial process which includes: participate in subject identification and recruitment; oversee the consent process; gather, transcribe, and enter study data into sponsor databases; manage and handle laboratory supplies and data; gather and handle biospecimens; create source documents to collect study data; ensure quality control, compile reports for regulatory compliance and maintenance while complying with clinical trial study requirements. Will also troubleshoot to avoid protocol deviations. Will complete all training requirements for each study, attend study meetings as necessary, and participate in monitoring visits and audits. Will act as the regulatory backup to the Senior CRA, which would require submission of IRB applications/renewals and study startup coordination.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordination of multiple studies, including coordination with various departments, patients, locations. Working within various systems to capture all data (electronic databases, patient records, patient payments and status logs).
Completion and maintenance of regulatory documentation (amendments to protocol, laboratory binder, source documents).
Training of new site staff, ongoing trainings (amendments), documentation of training.
Act as resource for junior staff, assist with other projects as needed (fiscal)
Assist with other projects as needed (back-up study coordination, data entry, phlebotomy, patient care assessments)
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a field directly related to the program responsibilities and one year of professional experience; or Master's degree in an area of specialization appropriate for the program.
PREFERRED:
2-4 years of clinical research experience.
