Under the general direction of the Division Director, Design & Construction, the PM is responsible for the management of capital projects and renovations including large and complex multi-million dollar projects. This position will contribute to the development and organization of project management processes and procedures to support the activities of the Design & Construction department.Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field | Preferred: Master's Degree | Registered Professional Engineer or Architect or relevant Master?s degree preferred. | Minimum Required: 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience | Preferred: 6 - 10 Years equivalent experienceDaily Management - 30% Oversees the daily operations of new construction and renovation projects Works closely with and supervises architects, engineers and contractors Makes frequent on-site visits Maintains current knowledge of all applicable regulations and codes for healthcare design and construction projects.
Project Preparation - 20% Issues RFPs, obtains bids, awards contracts, and participates in the development of contract documents Reviews planning contract documents prepared by outside consultants to ensure compatibility with project requirements and UC Health standards Prepares written and graphic presentations.
Financial Management - 20% Prepares initial budget, establish, tracks, and monitors expenditures throughout the course of each project Maintains all project records, including job costs, change orders and project close-out Approves requisitions from contractors and consultants.
Project Planning & Scheduling - 15% Assists the Division Director Design & Construction in short and long range planning of construction projects and renovation of existing facilities Coordinates the scheduling of different components within each project .
