Executive Director, Constituent Strategies - Institutional Advancement (Finance)
This position leads the process for continuous improvement of shaping the philanthropic vision for various audiences and supports the Institutional Advancement team in all fundraising efforts, partnering with the Senior Vice President of Philanthropy; Vice President, Campaigns and Operations; Chief Development Officers; Assistant Vice Presidents of Major and Planned Gifts, Corporate Alliance, and Special Events; Director of Stewardship, Major Gift Officers; and others who require effective messaging to optimize and streamline success.
Essential Functions:
1.Lead and manage the writing team to make the case for investment in Nemours and ensure a high level of content development and timely completion of all projects.
2. Develop donor proposal strategies to encourage long-term relationships and ensure positive and high-quality interactions with Nemours Children's Health.
3. Develop a deep understanding of program content and goals to be able to both write and design proposals to meet the sophisticated nature of prospective transformational, principal and major gift donors in the most attractive and compelling product possible.
4. In collaboration with Institutional Advancement leadership, lead non-research philanthropic grant program across entire Nemours enterprise (Delaware Valley and Florida).
5. Apply technical expertise for composing talking points for events, articles for Nemours Children's publications, letters of inquiry, departmental/project overviews, case statements, and various donor letters.
6. Partner with various departments, including Accounting, Finance, Legal and Sponsored Projects Administration to ensure full grant compliance.
7. Collaborate with a broad cross section of Nemours stakeholders including associates, executives, volunteers, and donors, developing ideas and content first-hand.
8. Attend strategy sessions and help others think through relationships, links, capacity, and affinity - within and without the institution.
9. Stay current with Nemours funding opportunities, priorities, and program growth to make appropriate recommendations for proposals.
10. Aid other team members with brainstorming for their special projects and careful proofing and editing of projects for others.
11. Provides mentorship to new writers, as required.
Job Requirements:
Bachelors degree required.
5 or more years of job related experience required.
Experience with foundation relations/grant writing, individual gift proposals and fundraising collateral.
