Technical Consulting Director, Engineer/Geologist/Scientist (Director Level) (Finance)
ERM is seeking an experienced Technical Consulting Director, Engineer/Geologist/Scientist to play a key role in growing our Liability Portfolio Management & Remediation (LPMR) service area in Overland Park, KS. With annual global sales in excess of $400 million, our LPMR service area continues to be the largest global service area in a business with a history of annual double-digit growth. ERM is structured to encourage collaboration and networking among regional offices, providing opportunities to work with our national technical team and remediation technology experts to share best practices, access the best talent, and partner on consulting opportunities. As a senior leader, your primary focus will be on client relationship development, sales, and delivery of the full spectrum of ERM's consulting services to deliver strategic value to our clients across multiple sectors. You will play a key role in leading and growing ERM's existing LPMR business across a broad portfolio of sustainable service offerings:
Site investigation and remediation, including “green” remediation
Human health and ecological risk assessments
Remediation portfolio and reserve assessments
Sediment management and remediation
Brownfields redevelopment
Decommissioning, Decontamination and Demolition (DDD
Remedial alternatives evaluations and pilot testing
Remediation engineering and construction management
You will support the successful delivery of ERM objectives by:
Providing leadership in communicating and enabling ERM's health and safety culture
Creating and sustaining ERM's reputation for technical excellence in a technical specialism or subject matter
Developing, sharing and utilizing technical expertise outside of own BU/local footprint (at least within Region)
Leveraging technical excellence and thought leadership to partner with clients and materially contribute to the achievement of sales targets for HGHV and key clients
Meaningfully contribute in a leadership role within or otherwise with the relevant Technical Communities; being a champion for technical collaboration across (at least) own region
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide business value selling at the top levels of client organizations, raising the profile of ERM's capabilities within key client organizations, to identify and shape clients' needs for ERM services.
Develop new client relationships and expand existing relationships by delivering strategic consulting advice, excellent value, and quality service.
Maintain pulse on industry business cycles and prioritize sales efforts toward high-potential, top opportunities.
Manage capture efforts utilizing technical understanding to develop proposals, including written content, pricing, presentations, contracting.
Build, grow, and manage a high-performance team, serving as a leader and mentor to consultants. Identify emerging talent and work with staff to reach their full potential; ensure rising stars are nurtured, developed and given new areas of responsibility.
Support the growth and development of ERM's global LPMR service area and actively collaborate with colleagues across the globe. Drive innovation within the technical community to stay ahead of client needs and to differentiate ERM in the market.
Work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment to build ERM's global business, as well as to lead client and technical teams.
Meet business financial targets, overall project budget and schedule, client satisfaction/expectations, and internal and contract requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
BS in engineering, geology, science, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
In-depth understanding of contaminated land management challenges in the targeted geographies.
Demonstrable track record providing high-value service and technical solutions to Fortune 500 clients.
Business acumen to understand business risk and challenges, and recognize corporate opportunities.
Demonstrable track record in delivering multimillion dollar sales results annually, including successfully winning large and strategic projects.
Offer recognized technical expertise and an established reputation in the local marketplace.
Certification in field; PE, PG, or similar registration desired.
